Adult Direct Care – Habilitation Instructor         Job Type: Full-time

Job Description

Provide training to individuals with behavioral, developmental and physical disabilities. Teach functional skills to individuals in personal, social, vocational and recreational areas to reach their maximum level of independence.

 Essential Responsibilities

  • Guide consumers in activities that facilitate daily living skills, appropriate social behavior, recreational and leisure skills and development of peer relationships.
  • Attend to personal care needs of consumers as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Assistant Teacher – Pre-K  (Lic: C12MA0273)                      Job Type: Full-time

Job Description

Assist with the direct care and supervision of the children in the center, providing for their physical, social, emotional, and educational needs in a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
  • Maintain the implemented processes to keep the classroom compliant for Department of Children and Families (DCF), Manatee and Sarasota County Early Learning Coalitions, and USDA CCFP inspections.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year experience working with infants and young children in an Early Childhood Educational program.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • 40 hours of Department of Children and Families coursework.

SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST                  Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:       

Provide direct Speech Therapy services to clients with special needs, including assessments, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication.  Deliver Speech-Language Therapy under physicians’ orders to evaluate and provide treatment for Communication/Swallowing Delays and Disorders.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings of clients and obtain necessary data to determine need for intervention, treatment planning and implementation.
  • Serve as liaison to client, family and team to conduct specialized evaluations, interpret and communicate evaluation findings, establish client schedules, and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Monitor client’s response to intervention and modify treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with physician orders.
  • Develop appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the client in their own environment.
  • Document results of client’s assessment, treatment, follow-up and termination of services. Participate in discharge planning.
  • Review the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual speech therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA accredited University.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with children and adults with Autism preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA Department of Health License from the state of Florida.
  • Must have Florida Medicaid number and National Provider Identification number.

EARLY STEPS CERT. PHYSICAL THERAPIST          Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

Direct the complete treatment of the clients for a healthier and more active lifestyle, providing services to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, development of a management plan, implementation of treatment, monitoring and documenting results and determining appropriate termination of services, when possible.  Specific exercises, manual therapy and manipulation, mechanical devices such as traction, education, physical agents including heat, cold, electricity, sound waves, radiation, rays, prescription of assistive devices, prostheses, orthoses and other interventions may be included.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings and evaluate clients to determine need for intervention/treatment. Develop treatment plan; implement, conduct and monitor client’s response to treatment.
  • Communicate with client, family and team members an appropriate home or community program to maintain or enhance the client’s performance.
  • Provide/recommend/fabricate adaptive devices or other equipment; train client, family and appropriate staff in the use or application of orthotics and prosthetics.
  • Adapt treatment and programs to meet the individual needs of the client. Document results of client’s assessment, treatment, follow-up and termination of services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or greater in Science/Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or license eligible.
  • Successful completion of National Certification Examination for Physical Therapy.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Early Steps Certification.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.

RESPITE WORKER                                             Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

The Respite Worker is responsible for the care of the Respite Program client and/or siblings in the absence of the child’s primary caregiver or parents.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assure the safety and well-being of each child.
  • Provide good physical care which includes toileting, dressing and feeding.
  • Initiate, motivate and supervise activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience working with children with special needs.
  • Ability to interact positively with children, parents and professional staff.
  • Infant, Child & Adult CPR/First Aid and HIV/AIDS training and certification is preferred but will train to obtain certification.
  • Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
