
Respite Worker Job Type: Full-time
The Respite Worker is responsible for the care of the Respite Program client and/or siblings in the absence of the child’s primary caregiver or parents.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assure the safety and well-being of each child.
- Provide good physical care which includes toileting, dressing and feeding.
- Initiate, motivate and supervise activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Experience with working with children with special needs.
Required Credentials:
- Infant, Child & Adult CPR/First Aid and HIV/AIDS training and certification is mandatory. Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

- Be prompt in all assignments.
- Respect family confidentiality.
- Keep parents informed about care provided and report any concerns or problems.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation.
- Comply with Easter Seals policies and procedures utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
- Demonstrate good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and effective communication while working at Easter Seals or when representing the organization.
- Other duties as assigned
