Sashi Gundala, Principal, Easterseals Academy
Sashi is originally from New Jersey and holds an undergraduate degree in engineering and a master’s in education from Rutgers University. She has more than 15 years of experience in the education field. For the last 7 years, she has been the Vice-Principal at the Marlboro school district. During her tenure, she also served as the supervisor for Media Literacy and the supervisor of Nursing for the entire school district.
In her words, Sashi says, “Students with burdens are today’s reality and schools today provide these kids the much-needed stability, structure, and skills to compete in the real world. As a student, I have experienced the impact of various forms of education, as a parent, I connect with other parents’ concerns and issues they face every day, as a teacher, I hold in my hands my experience to share with my faculty and now as an administrator, I am enthusiastic about putting all the above together and being a resource for everyone.”
Sashi is a technology enthusiast and has presented at the NJASCD/ASCD(2019), DISES(2018) conference, Techspo(2016), and the Google Summit(2015). She has won the Lemonick Science award from Princeton University and has also completed a workshop in “Mindfulness for Educators” from Harvard University.
Her interests and passion include helping students with special needs and writing about various topics in the field of education. She is passionate about reaching students from all walks of life and using technology to change the way we learn and teach.
She also enjoys listening to music, writing lyrics, yoga, dance, reading, and spending family time with her husband, two boys, and her puggle.
